Dark nights

Slowly but surely the darker nights are on their way, and burglars love to be concealed in the cover of darkness 

We've recently experienced 2 in 1 burglaries, where burglars break into a house to get hold of the homeowners' car keys and make off with the car.

Just last week, two burglaries took place via doors being left unlocked - the biggest thing you can do to try and safeguard your home from burglary is to make sure your front and rear doors are shut and locked at all times. If you lock your doors behind you whenever you return home, it reduces the chance of forgetting them later and helps keep burglars out.

Last week's burglaries are sadly not a one off - we’ve found most burglaries happen via unlocked doors as opportunistic thieves seek out any opening that they can take advantage of.

The most common items taken in a burglary are car keys, cash and bank cards so keep them out of sight and not within reach of windows or letterboxes.

If you have a keyless entry system, then a cheap and effective way to prevent the frequency being relayed is to put them in a signal blocking box or pouch.
